Spring’s arrived

We’ve seen winter turn to spring in the series of Forest School sessions I’ve been leading with children from a Bradford nursery. I can’t believe how much they changed from the shy, unsure and lost looking girls and boys we took out in early February to the confident, talkative and active group we see now. There was snow on the ground on those first few sessions and we had to try hard to encourage them put thoughts of a warm minbus behind them, explore the woodland and see the detail of the winter landscape. As the weeks have gone on we have seen them become more observant and they will now point out to us the birds’ nests, interesting leaves and tiny new seedlings they find.
